Questions we hear most.
Straight answers about how we work, who builds your product and what to send us to get started.
8 questions
Do you manufacture the product in-house?
No. We are an engineering and design firm. Our manufacturing partner, EMSG, builds the product. This lets us focus on design quality, and you still get a production path in the United States.
Who builds our product?
EMSG is our manufacturing partner. We manage the design relationship with you directly and coordinate the handoff to EMSG, so you have one point of contact through the full process.
Can you take over an existing design from another company?
Yes. We often work with customers who move a project away from an overseas or domestic manufacturer. We review the existing design, find ways to improve it and prepare it for production through EMSG.
Do you offer value engineering for an existing design?
Yes. Send us your current design, your bill of materials and your production volume. We will review the design and send you a proposal to reduce cost.
Can you help us move a product away from a Raspberry Pi or another single-board computer?
Yes. This is one of our specialties. We design custom processor solutions, often based on the STM32 family. This reduces cost, improves performance and removes the risk of a single-source part.
Do you offer firmware and software development?
Yes. We write bare-metal, RTOS and Linux-based firmware. We also write device drivers and application software.
What design software do you use?
We use Altium Designer for PCB design and SolidWorks for mechanical design. We can also work in your preferred tools.
Do you help with certification?
Yes. We design against FCC, UL, FDA and CE requirements from the start, run EMI and EMC pre-testing, and guide you through the documents, tests and approvals.
